The Mother and Baby Institution Payment scheme is open for application to anyone who spent time in one of 44 institutions that exist across the Republic of Ireland.
The Payment is broken down into three sections;
· Health Support Payment
This post focuses on the Health Support payment.
The Health Support Payment is worth a flat rate of €3,000 and is available to anyone who was
· in in one of the 44 institutions for more than 180 days
· and who lives outside the Republic of Ireland

Applications for payments are made as part of the general application to the payment scheme. When completing the application, you should tick the box for Health Support Payment if you feel that you may qualify for this.
In order for an application to a Health Support Payment to be processed you must supply proof that you live outside the Republic of Ireland. You can do this by uploading:
· Mortgage statement
· Tenancy/rental agreement
· a letter from the owner or manager of a nursing home or supported living arrangement
· a utility bill (gas/electricity/telephone/broadband)
to the application portal or by posting this in with your application. These must be dated within the last 6 months.
People who have received payments from the Magdalen Restorative Justice Ex-Gratia Scheme will, unfortunately not be eligible to receive a Health Support Payment, even where they were in a Mother and Baby or a County home Institution for more than 180 days.
